Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as we take a look at the names linked so far with the Sky Blues in the summer window

Coventry City’s recruitment drive is up and running with the arrival of Frank Lampard’s first two signings of the summer.

But the Sky Blues appear to be sat in the slow lane of Championship transfer business after it’s all gone queit following the early arrivals of Spanish free agent Miguel Angel Brau from second division club Granada and Aston Villa right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden.

The 22-year-old has joined on a four year deal for a fee of between £3.5m and £5m, according to various reports. His arrival has sparked speculation that it could pave the way for Milan van Ewijk to move on amid claims that Fulham have renewed their interest in the Dutchman.

City’s squad reported back for pre-season at Ryton on July 1 and there are expected to be more comings and goings over the next couple of months in the build up to, and into, the new Championship campaign.

Here we take an early look at the players who have already been linked with the club so far this summer.

MLS midfielder

Coventry City are reported to be “close” to signing Venezuelan international midfielder Daniel Pereira.

The 25-year-old central midfielder currently plays for MLS side Austin FC but is reported to be on his way to the CBS Arena to join the Sky Blues as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

That’s according to Buenos Aires, Argentina, based sports journalist who specialises in transfers, Germán García Grova, who has 155.7k followers on social media platform X.

He posted: The Venezuelan Daniel Pereira from #Austin is close to becoming a signing for #Coventry in the Championship. The deal is around £3.2M.

Italian winger

City have been linked with “interest” in highly-rated Italy Under-19 international Seydou Fini who is also claimed to be on the radar of two of the club’s Championship rivals.

According to senior football correspondent at GiveMeSport and talkSPORT commentator, Ben Jacobs, the Sky Blues are keen on the teenage forward who currently plays for Genoa of Italy’s Serie A.

The 19-year-old winger is also said to be “attracting interest” from West Brom and Watford and is claimed to be available for “around £3m-£5m”.

The left footed player, whose main position is playing off the right, can also play on the left and as a second striker.

City need back-up and competition for first choice right winger Tatsuhiro Sakamoto at a time when Raphael Borges Rodrigues is yet to stamp his mark in the first team since his arrival last summer.

Reports now suggest that the keeper is set to extend his contract with the Premier League side, paving the way for a fresh loan move.

Top flight prospect

Coventry City are “chasing” a deal to secure the services of Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth amid reports that a deal to join Rangers is off.

Our sister title the Daily Record is reporting interest in a loan deal from the Sky Blues while talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook claims the Championship club hold ‘strong interest’ in the 24-year-old who already knows the division well after spells at Swansea and Hull.

The news comes after it emerged that Rangers’ boss Russell Martin had been keen on a reunion with the former Swansea shot-stopper at Ibrox as he looked to provide competition for Jack Butland and Liam Kelly.

The former England U21 international made his breakthrough in Wales under Martin in 2023/24 – and spent the first half of last season on loan at Hull, albeit limited to just three appearances due to an ankle injury and returned to Brighton in January where he was back-up to Bart Verbruggen and Jason Steele.
