Wycombe keen on Stoke’s Nathan Lowe and Reading’s Joel Pereira
Wycombe Wanderers and Huddersfield Town are leading the way in signing Stoke City forward Nathan Lowe.
The 19-year-old, who has been with the former Premier League side since 2016, is highly sought after by several Football League clubs following his stellar season at League Two Walsall.
The striker scored 19 goals in 40 games in all competitions but was unable to help the Saddlers seal promotion to League One, as the Midlands team lost the division’s play-off final 1-0 against AFC Wimbledon.
The Chairboys, who have yet to sign anyone this summer, are expected to fight it out with the Terriers for Lowe’s signature.
Another player that is high on Wycombe’s list is Sonny Bradley.
The 33-year-old centre back played 21 times for the Light and Dark Blue Army on loan from Derby County at the back end of last season, scoring twice.
It has been confirmed he will not be given a new contract by the Championship side and will therefore become a free agent on June 30, with Wanderers offering the ex-Portsmouth and Luton Town man a contract.
It has also been suggested that Wycombe are also keen on bringing Reading goalkeeper Joel Pereira to Adams Park.
The 28-year-old, who turns 29 at the end of this month, is allegedly on Wanderers’ wish list as they continue to monitor the goalkeeper situation.
Wycombe started the previous campaign with Nathan Bishop in goal before he suffered a serious injury.
Franco Ravizzoli was then made number one at the end of August, but following the arrival of Mike Dodds in February, the Argentine was demoted to second choice after Wanderers signed Will Norris from Portsmouth on Transfer Deadline Day.
He played 19 times following his move from the South Coast, kept 10 clean sheets, and made some important saves, most notably in 1-0 wins against Huddersfield Town and Stevenage respectively.
However, he also made some high-profile errors in defeats against Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, and with Ravizzoli being released by the Adams Park club this summer, it is being suggested that Wycombe will be in the hunt for a new goalkeeper.
Norris is contracted for next season, alongside other shot-stoppers in Shamal George and Laurie Shala.
