Ndidi: Leicester City need to show how strong they are to move up Premier League table| All Football

Man United And Everton Expected To Battle For ‘Bargain’ Premier League Casemiro Replacement

Man United and Everton are reportedly set to battle to sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer.

The Red Devils need more reinforcements in central midfield, as they have already lost Christian Eriksen, who has become a free agent. Furthermore, reports have suggested that Casemiro could leave to join Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr and link up with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who just signed a new contract there.

With that in mind, United will need to bring in at least one midfielder to replace Casemiro and Eriksen, and it seems that they have their eye set on a bargain from the Premier League.

Ndidi agrees Leicester City 'new contract'

According to talkSPORT via ManchesterWorld, United and Everton both want to sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, whose contract at the King Power Stadium is due to expire in 2027, meaning that the Foxes could cash in on him this summer.

Furthermore, due to the fact that the Foxes were relegated, they are willing to sell Ndidi for just £9m, which is a bargain fee considering that he’s 28, and a very solid Premier League-calibre midfielder.

Last year, Ndidi made 30 appearances for Leicester, scoring one goal and provided five assists. He was a bright spark in a Leicester midfield that really struggled last year under Steve Cooper and then Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

In terms of other players that could play in central midfield linked with a move to Old Trafford, Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaire-Emery has also emerged as a target.

Clearly, he is a much higher-calibre of player than Ndidi, and at the age of 19, he could become one of the best midfielders in world football.

However, Zaire-Emery is expected to command a transfer fee of around £85m, as PSG are reluctant to sell him. With Man United’s current financial situation, they would need to make several player sales to land the PSG man. So Ndidi is a much more realistic option…
