Leicester City Expected to Make Managerial Change With Potential Target Hinted At
Leicester City look set to sack Ruud Van Nistelrooy as pre-season approaches. The Dutchman ended the Foxes’ season with a win percentage of just 18.5% and 0.7 points per game. This eventually led to the club’s second relegation in three years.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy: To Exit
As confirmed by both Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook, the East Midlands outfit looks set to sack Van Nistelrooy. The reports expect the club to announce the exit on July 1, which is not only the birthday of the Dutchman, but also the start of a new financial year.
This is important as they look to avoid dismissing two coaches in the same financial year, after Steve Cooper’s exit.
Crook also notes that sources close to the club deny that Sean Dyche is being lined up as a replacement. This follows on from owner Khun Top’s thoughts on the new coach this past week, where Rob Tanner reveals that he would like someone with a similar playing style to Enzo Maresca.
This leads many to think Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl could still be an option. The German’s time with Bayern Munich and the national team makes him an obvious option, especially when compared to Maresca.
How This News Could Affect Leicester City
With the Championship season quickly approaching, changes need to be made soon. This is not only to allow the coach in charge to implement their system, but also to find the right players for their squad.
Due to a tumultuous two-year period, many players are likely to depart. Conor Coady is one example, as there have been many links with him and Rangers. In addition to this, more lucrative sales of the likes of Mads Hermansen and Bilal El Khannouss may also be necessary.
Therefore, when making this decision, these factors will be important. Financial restrictions will also play a part in any changes. Sacking a third manager in around three years is unsustainable and may lead to the club overlooking Rohl, as he has a lucrative release clause.
