Swansea City drop interest in player eyed by Derby County and Blackburn Rovers
Swansea City have dropped their interest in Derby County and Blackburn Rovers-linked Ethan Erhahon at Lincoln City, according to WalesOnline.
Swansea City saw a bid rejected for the League One man last month, as per Football Insider. It now appears the Swans won’t be going back in with an improved offer.
Erhahon, 24, has been a key player for Lincoln City side in the middle of the park and has made 107 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring two goals. EFL Analysis have claimed that Derby County and Blackburn Rovers are keen on a move for him, along with Millwall, Oxford United, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle.
In this latest update regarding his future, WalesOnline claim Alan Sheehan’s side have moved onto other targets now. That could open the door for his other suitors to swoop in ahead of the upcoming transfer window this summer.
After signing for the Imps back in 2023, he told their website: “I have always said I wanted to play in England and push myself to the next level. I feel Lincoln is the right place and club for the next stage in my development, and I’m really looking forward to getting going.”

Lincoln City snapped up Erhahon to bolster their midfield ranks. He has since become an important player for them.
He has enjoyed regular game time with the Imps over the past few years. It would be a blow for them to lose him over the coming months
Erhahon rose up through the academy ranks at St Mirren. He was a regular for the Buddies at various different youth levels before breaking into their first-team in 2017.
He went on to play 123 games for the Scottish Premiership side and found the net on four occasions. Barnsley brought him in on loan back in 2020 but he didn’t feature at all during his time with the Tykes.
What now for Ethan Erhahon amid Swansea City development?
It remains to be seen whether Lincoln City will be able to keep hold of Erhahon. He may now want to test himself at a higher level.
Swansea City could have seen him as someone to add more quality to their ranks. Alan Sheehan will want to put his own stamp on the squad following his recent full-time appointment but it appears he won’t be heading to Wales anytime soon.
The Swans aren’t prepared to fork out more cash for him. That means the likes of Derby County and Blackburn Rovers could now take advantage should they wish to, with Millwall, Oxford United, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle also mentioned as suitors.
