Bournemouth Willing to Sell Man City, PSG Target If 'Huge Offer' Arrives

PSG will likely be looking for a center-back this summer, with one target being Bournemouth standout Ilya Zabarnyi. Nonetheless, there are major hurdles that the Parisians will need to overcome to land the Ukrainian standout.

Last year, the club brought in some promising young talent with Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho. Moreover, that youth-focused approach could continue this summer. The transfer window is still a couple of months away, but speculation is already heating up.

Earlier this month, Sky Sport Switzerland reported that PSG are eyeing a summer move for either Illya Zabarnyi or Club Brugge’s Joel Ordoñez. Still, there’s a potential hurdle if they want to land the Ukrainian defender.

The key decision for PSG could revolve around Matvey Safonov’s future. He might be moved this summer—either sold or sent out on loan—especially if Gianluigi Donnarumma cements his place as the undisputed No. 1 by extending his contract.

Clearing space in the goalkeeper depth chart could help lure Zabarnyi to PSG, though the club will face competition.

On Thursday, The iPaper reported that Zabarnyi, a serious target for Newcastle and admired by Manchester City, is believed to have a starting price tag of around £50 million.

While no mention of other suitors in the report, the list should be growing considering the talent. A report from CaughtOffside last November stated that although Zabarnyi recently signed a contract with Bournemouth through 2029, the club would be willing to listen to offers around £50 million.

The report also mentioned that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle for Zabarnyi’s signature.

The Parisians included a sell-on clause in the deal with Leipzig, allowing them to earn additional revenue if and when Simons is sold.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal with Leipzig was €80 million, including €55 million up front. Moreover, Simons signed a contract until June 2027, though there’s no guarantee he’ll stay in Germany that long.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, rumors link the Dutchman to a sale. According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United may currently have the edge over Manchester City in the race to sign him next summer.
