Eberechi Eze Will 'Probably Stay' at Crystal Palace

‘Crystal Palace convince Eze & star players to stay by agreeing Oliver Glasner deal’

Crystal Palace are pushing to agree terms over a new contract with Oliver Glasner amid interest from both Tottenham and RB Leipzig.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the Eagles have made contract talks a priority ahead of the summer

Glasner has led his side into the FA Cup final for only the third time in their history, just 14 months after taking over from Roy Hodgson in February 2024.

With this coming on top of a clear direction and strong league performance, they are determined to secure his future at the club as his current deal will expire in 2026.

This comes after Football Insider revealed in March that Palace are progressing in talks with Glasner amid interest from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

However, Brown warned Football Insider that Glasner could be tempted to join Tottenham if he is not given assurances and backing in the transfer market.

Crystal Palace doing all they can to agree Oliver Glasner contract

Brown told Football Insider on 11 April Glasner will hold crunch talks with Crystal Palace at the end of the season to determine his long-term future.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience working with top-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, has insisted Palace are now doing all they can to keep the boss at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace is a really positive place to be at the moment,” he told Football Insider.

You could ask the question, why would anybody want to leave at the moment?

“They’ve got a strong nucleus there, some really top players, a top manager, and if they can win the FA Cup they’ll have proved they can do it on the big stage.

“The problem with that is other clubs start to take notice of those players and the manager.

“I think Glasner’s Palace can be an example to the majority of clubs in the country, they’ve been fantastic this season on a limited budget.

“So now the plan for Palace is, they want to get the manager tied down to a new deal.

“It’s going to be their priority heading into the summer because of how well he’s done.

“They might have some issues over the summer, and their focus is on keeping their best players at the club because there’s a lot of talk about players leaving.

“Palace, of course, don’t want that to happen, they want to convince them to stay.

“If they can get the manager to commit his future to the club, those players may well be more tempted to follow suit.

“They’ll be doing whatever they can to agree that new deal and then they can shift their focus towards other things, but Glasner will be the key.”

Liverpool and Man City race to sign Adam Wharton

One player who has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this summer is Adam Wharton, after another impressive season at Selhurst Park.

Brown told Football Insider on 30 April that Liverpool want to sign Wharton as Arne Slot feels he would be a good fit for his system at Anfield.

Liverpool are not the only side in for the Palace star, though, as Brown told Football Insider in February that Man City scouts have been tracking Wharton.

However, Palace will demand “huge” money for Wharton as they are very reluctant to lose the midfielder who was signed for £22million just 18 months ago.
