The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a National Championship season. Head coach Ryan Day faced a ton of heat from the fanbase before the playoffs began and silenced his critics.

They had one of the most talented teams in the entire country this past college football season. The Buckeyes decided to promote Brian Hartline from wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator after Chip Kelly left the program to go coach the Las Vegas Raiders as an offensive coordinator. Ohio State will still be one of the top teams in the nation next college football season.

Ohio State Buckeyes Head Coach Ryan Day Reveals That Offensive Coordinator Brian Hartline Will Be Calling Plays Next Season

Ryan Day talked to WBNS Television in Columbus, Ohio about Brian Hartline’s role with the club in the fall. Day said about Hartline:

“Some guys would say, wait a minute, I’m going somewhere else. He didn’t name me the coordinator. Now, he’s going to be coordinator. Now he’s going to call plays. That loyalty and that patience is going to pay off, and I think he’s going to be the best coordinator in the country.”

Hartline has recruited many talented wide receivers to the football program. He landed the number one recruit Chris Henry Jr. for the class of 2026. Jeremiah Smith is also one of the best wide receivers in college football and he was only a freshman this past season.

A lot of other Buckeyes wide receivers have gone on to play in the NFL. Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are just a few of those names to have been drafted. The Ohio State Buckeyes will have many more wide receivers in years to come who will get drafted. Emeka Egbuka will be the next Buckeyes wide receiver who will potentially be drafted in the first round this season.
