Jack Rudoni transfer stance as Coventry City prepare for Newcastle United interest
The midfielder has been a standout performer for Coventry City in the Championship this season and has reportedly attracted interest from the top flight
Jack Rudoni has expressed his contentment at Coventry City amidst interest from Premier League and Championship clubs.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who moved to the Sky Blues from Huddersfield Town last year, was instrumental in their push for promotion, which ended in a play-off semi-final defeat by Sunderland.
Rudoni’s impressive tally of 10 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances has caught the attention of top-flight sides Newcastle United and Leeds United.
The Mail have reported that Newcastle are keeping tabs on the player in case they need to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Southampton and Leicester City, both set to join Coventry in the Championship next season following their relegation, are also reportedly keen on securing the Englishman’s services.
Coventry fans, still reeling from the departures of Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyökeres, are understandably anxious about potentially losing another key player, reports Coventry Live.
Yet, BBC Sport reports that Rudoni is ‘happy’ at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Mantej Mann wrote on X: “Jack Rudoni was always going to be the subject of speculation after an impressive first season at CCFC.
“The midfielder has Premier League ambitions but I’m told he is happy at the CBS and enjoys working with Frank Lampard.”
Newcastle’s summer transfer business will centre around bringing in a goalkeeper, centre-half, right-winger and a striker. However, should they lose Joe Willock or Sean Longstaff, they could look to bring in a new midfielder.
