Colchester United are ‘so lucky’ to have new head groundsman Brad Jefferies at the club.

Responding to a council consultation 398 villagers out of 442 surveyed said they were in favour of the meets continuing.

In response to the concerns of cancellation, Sam Arnett, 36, set up a committee to properly run the event.

Due to this new-found order, the council has decided to keep the event running.

The Great Bentley parish council clerk said: “The council discussed the event at length and agreed Sam and his committee have done everything that has been requested of them by the parish council.

“We look forward to working with the committee in the future and securing the future of the event for many years to come.”

Sam Arnett said: “The Parish Council voted unanimously on February 6th in favor of continuing the GT Bentley Bike Night in 2025.

“This decision was based on our submitted proposal. The formal agreement between the Parish Council and the newly formed GT Bentley Bike Night Association is currently being finalized, and further details will be released upon completion.

“Which I am very excited and eager to share.”
