Yoane Wissa: Brentford forward handed DR Congo 'debut' chance - BBC SportNewcastle are reportedly ready to meet Brentford’s asking price for Bryan Mbeumo in a bid to beat the likes of Manchester United to his signature.

United are expected to dip into the market this summer to improve their attacking options and Mbeumo is believed to be a player of interest.

The Peoples Person explained in great detail why United should do everything possible to sign Mbeumo, who is enjoying a stellar season.

The 25-year-old has notched 15 goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have helped ensure the Bees haven’t missed Ivan Toney too much.

In addition to United, Arsenal and Newcastle have also been linked to Mbeumo and now, CaughtOffisde report that the Magpies have demonstrated a willingness to fork out the £50m Brentford are demanding to sanction the Cameroonian’s exit.

CaughtOffside relay, “The strongest interest may well be coming from Newcastle United, with sources telling CaughtOffside that they’d be willing to meet Brentford’s £50m asking price for the in-form Cameroon international.”

The news outlet adds that the Tyneside outfit are determined to win the race for Mbeumo. He is seen as someone who could seamlessly slot into the team at Newcastle and complement Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
