Eventually, father time catches up with us all. This is something that former Clemson Tigers superstar linebacker Ben Boulware is realizing now that he’s 30 years old. Boulware is riding high these days, as Dabo Swinney recently promoted him to linebackers coach.
Boulware is wasting no time making an impact on the field and with recruiting. However, he now knows better than to challenge his players during workouts. This week, Boulware apparently put himself through a session to inspire his LB group. In pretty humorous fashion, the Clemson assistant revealed that he could not have regretted that decision more:
It wasn’t that long ago that Boulware was a machine for the Clemson defense, helping the team win the National Championship in 2017. Now that he’s back with the Tigers as a coach, Boulware is going to bring out the best of his linebackers.
You’ve got to respect the effort he’s putting in. He’s pushing his guys during offseason sessions and he even decided to lace up his sneakers and show the youngsters on the team how it’s done. Is Boulware going to be sore for a little while? Sure, but the players surely respect the effort he’s putting in.
