Everton are plotting a move to sign Rangers star Hamza Igamane in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there is a “real possibility” that an agreement could be reached to sign the 22-year-old when the window opens.
However, they are expected to face stiff competition as European outfits Marseille and Sevilla are also keeping tabs on the centre-forward’s progress.
Everton attempted to sign the Moroccan during the January transfer window but were unable to get a deal over the line as Rangers were reluctant to sell.
That stance is not expected to change as prospective new owners 49ers Enterprises are unlikely to want to see their star man, who is under contract until 2029, leave.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 2 February that Everton have been watching Igamane with a potential summer deal in mind.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 27 January that Rangers will accept “huge” offers for Igamane this summer amid growing interest.
The financial situation at Ibrox means they are unlikely to be able to turn down offers which would represent a significant profit on the £2.5million paid to sign him in 2024.
