The Tennessee Volunteers are off to a great start on the recruiting trail for 2026. But there’s no guarantee the Volunteers will sign all of the recruits who have verbally committed to the program. Of the eight 2026 commitments Tennessee currently possesses, four-star tight end Carson Sneed appears to be wavering the most.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported Sneed will visit the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday. BuffStampede.com’s Adam Munsterteiger also reported Sneed’s plan to visit the Buffaloes. Sneed is a four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The tight end is also a top 300 recruit overall, top 15 tight end and the No. 7 Tennessee prospect in the class. “I’m really interested in the opportunity to get coached by some legends, and guys with lots of ball knowledge,” Sneed told On3. “And if I end up there I could get developed by those guys.”
Wiltfong wrote Sneed has been verbally committed to Tennessee since August. But the tight end received an offer from Colorado in January. At Tennessee, Sneed would have the opportunity to play college football in his home state. Sneed attends Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville, Tenn.
But the question for Sneed appears to be if it’s more appealing to play for Pro Football Hall of Fame member Deion Sanders.
