He will be promoted to Thomas Frank’s first-team squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Director of football Phil Giles said: “When Romelle arrived on loan in January, we knew he was a talented player with potential, but it’s fair to say that in his time with us he’s exceeded our expectations.

“His performances for the B team have been outstanding and he has shown himself to have a desire to work hard in training. He has earned his place in our first-team squad for next season.

“He will need to continue to work hard, on and off the pitch, to continue his progression with us towards first-team matches.”

Prior to joining Brentford B, Donovan had spent the first half of the season on loan at League One side Burton Albion.

He played nine times for the Brewers, with his first goal in senior football coming in his final outing, a 5-2 Football League Trophy win at Northampton Town.

The exciting teenager, who also made 10 appearances for Birmingham across the Championship and FA Cup during 2023/24, has also represented England at Under-18s and Under-19s level.

Leeds United are interested in a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to Mail Online.

Leeds United will look to secure the services of the experienced Premier League goalkeeper, as they aim to strengthen their squad following their promotion last season. LUFC will have a top flight stay on their radar, so they must recruit well.

Newcastle United are pursuing the signing of James Trafford, who impressed at Burnley last season after a deal for the goalkeeper fell through for the Magpies last summer. This signing could lead to Pope’s departure from the club, who he has played for since 2022.
