Exclusive: Bournemouth striker Jonny Stuttle agrees Walsall deal

Bournemouth striker Jonny Stuttle has agreed a season-long loan deal with Walsall, sources have told Football Insider.

Stuttle was a target for a host of League Two and National League sides in this summer’s transfer window, but Walsall have managed to secure the signature of the highly-rated forward.

The 19-year-old enjoyed spells out on loan at Aldershot and Farnborough last season, and Bournemouth are happy to farm him out again so that he can continue his development with regular first-team football.

Football Insider reported on Tuesday, 24 June, that the Saddlers led the race for Stuttle’s signature, and it is now understood that a deal has been agreed for the exciting prospect.

Jonny Stuttle impresses during 2024/25 season

While Stuttle was not given enough time to prove himself at Aldershot Town, with two goals and nine appearances, his move to Farnborough for the second half of the season is where the striker shone.

He netted 10 times in 19 appearances as Boro finished 10th in the National League South table, even scoring a hat-trick against Chelmsford in just his third game for the club.

Walsall, on the other hand, narrowly missed out on promotion to League One, having finished in a play-off spot before losing 1-0 to Wimbledon in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

It was a heartbreaking ending to what was a brilliant campaign from Mat Sadler‘s side, who will want to avoid a repeat during the 2025/26 campaign.

Mat Sadler to replace Nathan Lowe at Walsall

On loan from Championship side Stoke City, 19-year-old Nathan Lowe was the Saddlers’ leading goalscorer in League Two, finishing the campaign with 15 goals in 20 starts.

Those are some massive shoes to fill for Stuttle, but after impressing at Farnborough, the 19-year-old striker will be keen to take the next step up and impress in the Football League.

Jamille Matt and Taylor Allen scored 12 goals and 10 goals, respectively, and if Walsall are to push for automatic promotion, a striker with even more potential is needed for next season.

The signing of Stuttle could make all the difference as the Saddlers gear up for another campaign in League Two.

UEFA will wipe the profits from Jarell Quansah’s sale to Bayer Leverkusen but Liverpool will still get a PSR benefit from the deal.

That is the view of football finance expert Dan Plumley, who exclusively told Football Insider that there were several factors behind the Reds’ decision to sell the young centre-back.
