Championship club’s Player of the Season could snub Everton because he doesn’t want to sit on bench

Everton are already reaching out to several transfer targets this summer window.

Everton are now tracking Fiorentina striker Albert Gudmundsson, who is open to a move to the Premier League.

David Moyes is also lining up a move to sign James McAtee from Manchester City, though, there is serious competition from the Bundesliga for his signature.

Teammate Jack Grealish has been heavily linked to Everton, too, and has recently been left out of Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad, so that deal could gather pace over the coming weeks.

Now, there has been a fresh link that has just emerged, this time to a Sheffield United player.

Everton interested in signing Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper

Jordan Pickford is David Moyes’ number one goalkeeper and that’s expected to remain the case next season, with the England international still under contract for another two years.

However, according to Alan Nixon, the Scotsman wants to bring in another keeper following Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic’s departures.

Everton are reportedly exploring a move to sign Sheffield United’s Player of the Season Michael Cooper.

Cooper, who joined the Blades from Plymouth Argyle last summer, has established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the league, perhaps only behind Burnley’s James Trafford, who has made Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Sheffield United are desperate to retain Cooper’s signature, and it’s understood the 25-year-old doesn’t want to leave to become a bench option anyway.

So, unless he’s given assurances of becoming Pickford’s replacement in the future, it seems this deal is very unlikely.

Moyes is clearly in the market for a high-level number two, which suggests he’s planning long-term, with Pickford into his 30s.

Though, there doesn’t seem to be a pressing need to sign a ready-made replacement at this stage. Pickford is only 31 and has at least three or four years left at the top level.

Senegalese media go crazy over Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye with his ‘greatest achievement’ against Ireland

Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye was part of the Senegal side that drew 1-1 with the Republic of Ireland on Friday night.

After a fine season, Everton’s top scorer is now on international duty with Senegal and appears to have carried his good form from the end of the Premier League season.

Iliman Ndiaye is one of several Everton players involved in national games in June, with the 25-year-old coming up against teammate Jake O’Brien in the Friendly in Dublin.

Under David Moyes, Ndiaye has come a long way after completing a move to the Toffees in 2024 and is seemingly enjoying his football much more than he was under Sean Dyche.

Ndiaye scored in Everton’s last game at Goodison Park, etching himself into the history books in the process and ensuring fans will remember his name for years to come.

After playing the full 90 minutes against Ireland, Senegal’s media have shared exactly why they were blown away by Ndiaye’s performance.

Jamie Carragher was impressed with Ndiaye in his first season with Everton, and the Senegal media think the exact same thing after he started the move which led to the Lions equalising in the latter stages of the game.

Although he did not register a goal contribution, Senegalese outlet Wiwsport made sure to give Ndiaye his flowers.

They gave him a rating of 7/10 and said: “Less prominent in the first half, the Everton striker literally sounded the Lions’ revolt. Very quickly, he tried to create imbalance, even if his rhythm was not followed, especially at the start of the second half.
