SBNation Story

The Athletic are reporting Tottenham Hotspur have agreed terms with both Paris Saint-Germain and player for Randal Kolo Muani to join Spurs on a season-long loan:

According to David Ornstein, the loan does not include an option or obligation, and Kolo Muani is currently travelling to London for a medical.

The forward had been linked to both Juventus and Bayern Munich in recent days; the latter following the collapse of the German giant’s move for Nicolas Jackson. He’s a forward who will be solid in Thomas Frank’s side, adding good depth and pushing to start up top; but it’s not exactly a glowing endorsement of Spurs’ other frontline options, such as Mathys Tel.

It’s also a concerning update for Dominic Solanke, for whom it does appear that his ankle problem is worse than first thought. With that in mind, I’d be remiss not to sign off by referencing my previous piece:

Newcastle United could make three transfer deadline day moves to replace Alexander Isak

The latest Newcastle United transfer news as the club have agreed a £125 million fee with Liverpool for Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United look set for a busy transfer deadline day with the news that the Alexander Isak saga appears to be coming to a close.

That development leaves Newcastle just a matter of hours to fins a replacement ahead of the 7pm deadline. There has been several names linked with a move to St James’ Park over the last few months.

The club have completed a move for Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart. But with both Callum Wilson and Isak leaving this summer, the club ideally will want another striker before the window closes.

Yoane Wissa

Wissa is the name who has been linked with Newcastle throughout the summer. The striker has made his own transfer stance clear, releasing a bombshell statement this week calling on Brentford to let him leave before the deadline.

Newcastle have seen bids turned down. But they finally look to have made the breakthrough and have reportedly agreed a fee of around £55m with Brentford, meaning he looks to be the most likely replacement as things stand.

Jorgen Strand Larsen

Another player who Newcastle have had bids rejected for this summer. The Magpies have seen bids of £50 million and £55 million knocked back by Wolves.

The latest reports suggest that the midlands side are steadfast in their not for sale stance, despite the player telling them that he wants to move to Newcastle. Strand Larsen was left out of the Wolves’ squad for their Premier League clash against Everton at the weekend.

Nicolas Jackson

Newcastle were one of the teams linked with an interest in Jackson this summer when it seemed he had no future at Chelsea. He however looked to be closing in on a loan deal with Bayern Munich, until a late U-turn by Chelsea.

Injury to Liam Delap has caused the club to pull the plug on that deal. But Newcastle could have looked to take advantage of the situation.

As well as calling Jackson back from Germany, Chelsea have also terminated the loan with Sunderland for striker Marc Guiu.
