Thomas Frank has no interest in letting Tottenham’s £40m star leave despite latest transfer decision

Thomas Frank still has plenty of transfer decisions to make this summer, with less than a month left until the window closes.

The North London club have a rather bloated squad, and Thomas Frank will decide which players he wants to keep or sell.

The Danish head coach has now had several weeks to assess his new squad at Spurs and will have a clearer idea of who he’s willing to offload.

But one of the players who has been touted as a potential departure is now unlikely to be sent out on loan to get minutes following a decision by the new Spurs boss.

Archie Gray is not expected to leave Tottenham on loan this summer

At this moment in time, Archie Gray is not expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer, according to Tom Barclay.

Despite the arrival of Joao Palhinha at Tottenham, Frank has no desire to allow his 18-year-old midfielder to leave on a temporary basis this summer.

The 51-year-old is believed to be a big fan of the youngster, with Frank having tried to sign Gray during his time as manager at Brentford.

Barclay told The Tottenham Way: “I also agree on Archie Gray, I’m led to believe there has been no indication that he will be sent out on loan at the moment, but we’ll see on that one.”

Gray, who cost Tottenham £40m, could end up playing a key role next season and should learn a lot from playing alongside Palhinha.

The teenager produced an impressive performance against Newcastle United on Sunday as he showed a glimpse of what he can do at his best.

He completed the third-highest number of defensive actions against the Magpies in a game against Premier League opposition.

Gray will also be hopeful of getting more minutes in midfield next term, having spent most of last season playing either at centre-back or full-back.

Yves Bissouma is expected to be sold by Tottenham

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are trying to sell Yves Bissouma, with Fabio Paratici offering him around to various clubs.

Spurs were open to signing Palhinha and taking on his wages with the confidence that one of their current midfielders would leave.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce showed an interest in Bissouma, with a move to Turkey his most likely destination.

West Ham United are also keeping tabs on the Tottenham midfielder as Graham Potter looks to bolster his midfield options.

Consideration over signing Tottenham player for €20m or Brighton option for €30m

In June, Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma emerged as an option for Juventus and now Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Matt O’Riley is again being mentioned as a target.

The Bianconeri want to improve their midfield, with Douglas Luiz expected to leave the Turin club in the coming weeks. Tuesday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports that while Morten Hjulmand is seen as the key target, alternatives are being explored.

Brighton’s O’Riley is being pursued by Juve general director Damien Comolli, who believes that the Dane will cost €30m. Tottenham’s Bissouma is also an option and his price is put at €20m.

The only problem in signing the Mali international is that Juve have just one non-EU spot in the squad and have been linked with Argentina international Nahuel Molina. As a result, Bissouma can only join if the Old Lady don’t move for the Atletico Madrid defender.

The Italian press has been convinced that Hjulmand can be got for €40m but that seems unlikely, as the Denmark international’s release clause is €80m and Sporting are usually a tough nut to crack.

This makes signing O’Riley from Brighton or Bissouma from Tottenham likelier options, with their price tags within Juve’s reach.
