Alongside Wissa: Newcastle Want ‘Prolific’ PSG Star After Fresh Encouragement
Newcastle could explore a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos before the transfer deadline, MailOnline journalist Craig Hope has revealed.
The Magpies remain on the lookout for attacking reinforcements to Eddie Howe’s squad and have placed Ramos among potential replacements for their wantaway star Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international is not expected to play for Newcastle again amid his ongoing transfer saga, as he has set his sights on securing a move to Liverpool in the coming weeks.
Newcastle are still aiming to sign two new strikers before the end of the transfer window and are expected to strike a deal with Brentford for Yoane Wissa’s arrival.
According to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano, the St James’ Park side are working to bring in the Congolese international ‘as soon as possible’, after Brentford agreed a deal to sign Bournemouth’s Dango Outtara as his replacement.

Newcastle were linked with a move for Ramos earlier this month, and Hope claims a late summer deal is still possible after ‘fresh encouragement’ over a potential transfer.
PSG would reportedly be more inclined to sell rather than contemplate a loan, and Newcastle are believed to be exploring their options after learning of his availability.
Ramos scored a late equaliser to rescue PSG in the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham on Wednesday, which the Ligue 1 giants went on to win on penalties.
The ‘prolific’ 24-year-old, who first joined PSG from Benfica in the summer of 2023 on loan, made 41 appearances under Luis Enrique last season, scoring 18 goals and providing six assists.
He also made five appearances at the Club World Cup, two of which were starts, and scored in the 4-0 semi-final win over Real Madrid.
