Tottenham are set to push again for Savinho after seeing their first approach rejected, according to Brazilian outlet UOL. The Manchester City winger remains high on Thomas Frank’s list as the club look to improve their attack before the window closes.
The Brazilian has already given his approval to the move, but Spurs’ opening bid of €50m was turned down by Manchester City. That figure would have brought the Premier League champions a big profit, but apparently not big enough.
As we previously explained, reports in Brazil have already revealed that Savinho’s camp believe he’ll cost around €80m (£67m), with his agent Frederico Moraes confirming the rejected bid earlier this week.

Pep Guardiola took a swipe at Daniel Levy for blocking Manchester City’s pursuit of Kane, saying via Sky Sports: “The club did absolutely everything. We didn’t talk about Tottenham, not even one offer, because they didn’t want to negotiate. It’s understandable. The moment they open the door, maybe we’ll say. But we’re not going to pay £200 million, we tried to negotiate, but the big master of negotiation, Mr. Daniel Levy, we could not do it.”

As things stand, Manchester City’s asking price for Savinho is £76 million and unless Tottenham match their request, they will approve of the transfer.
Aside from the youngster being one of their two natural wingers, making his presence a necessity in their squad, after how the saga involving Kane, who Ederson claimed has “absurd” quality unfolded, they have no reason to do business with Spurs.
Tottenham continue to work to sign Savinho after bidding £42 million for his signature but considering Manchester City’s difficult experience with chairman Daniel Levy, it would be best if they negotiated his potential exit with another club.
Levy knows all too well that past negotiating experience can affect future business. After all, Manchester United and Tottenham still have a sour relationship after the Dimitar Berbatov debacle in 2008, while Levy has never done any sort of transfer business with Chelsea.
