Derby County, Hull City and Swansea City eyeing loan deal for 19-year-old midfielder

Derby County, Hull City and Swansea City are looking to sign RB Salzburg’s Bobby Clark on loan, as per DaveOCKOP.

Derby County, Hull City and Swansea City will all be looking to add to their ranks before the window’s end. DCFC need reinforcements to strengthen their survival bid while the Tigers have already been active, and the Swans are nervously looking over their shoulders after a tough window and poor form.

Little time remains to get deals done though. All three are in Championship action this weekend and the winter window slams shut on Monday night

The race against the clock to get deals done is on, and the aforementioned Championship trio could be set to go to battle for a potential addition.

A report from DaveOCKOP says that Derby County, Hull City and Swansea City are all among the sides to hold an interest in RB Salzburg prospect Bobby Clark.

Clark was signed by former Liverpool coach Pep Ljinders but he has since been sacked. The former Newcastle United prospect has struggled to nail down a regular spot and could make a loan return to the United Kingdom.

Rangers are also said to be eyeing the 19-year-old midfielder with a potential exit on the cards and DCFC, the Tigers and the Swans keen.

Obvious talent

Derby County, Hull City and Swansea City target Clark is a young midfielder with clear talent and potential. He played 14 times for the Liverpool first-team before heading overseas to Austria.

It had been hoped the move could see him develop further under the watchful eye of a familiar face in Ljinders. However, the moves from Liverpool have not gone well for either, and Clark could now follow the former boss out the exit door.

Nevertheless, exposure to Champions League football and occasional starts in the league should serve Clark well in the long run. Looking at the immediate future though, a loan may be for the best.

Who needs Clark the most?

Although Hull City have been said keen, it’s hard to see them bringing Clark in this month. HCAFC have signed Matt Crooks and Eliot Matazo as new midfield options already and it seems more likely that someone departs.

As for Derby County though, a new midfielder is needed. Paul Warne prefers to sign someone with Championship experience but Clark has found action at a good level and could be a smart signing for DCFC.

A Swansea City move could work too. They’re set to lose captain Matt Grimes to Coventry City and will need to strengthen in his absence.
