Nottingham Forest set to sign £37m Anthony Elanga replacement after Evangelos Marinakis talks
Nottingham Forest are now close to getting themselves a replacement sorted out for the departed Anthony Elanga.
July has proved a long month for the Reds but finally, in the wake of Morgan Gibbs-White signing a new contract, things are looking up once again.
Dan Ndoye looks like being the man to replace Elanga at Forest, with the Swiss international the primary target to replace the Swedish performer on Trentside.
With Forest also looking at Adama Traore, an exciting update has now just been delivered by a man firmly in the know when it comes to transfers.
Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest
It’s the three words that every fan wants to hear from Romano and for the first time in quite some time, the transfer guru has hit the ‘Here we go’ when it comes to Forest.
It’s believed that Ndoye is now a done deal and the player will start to travel to England to undergo medical tests, which look like a formality.
Ndoye said yes to Forest’s terms a few weeks ago and it’s taken some time to thrash out the deal between the clubs, with Evangelos Marinakis personally getting involved to smooth things over.
The Bologna winger scored nine goals and claimed six assists last season as the Serie A outfit won the Coppa Italia and qualified for the Europa League.
Forest have to keep working hard on new signings
Other players are being linked with moves to Forest this summer and the hope will be that a few more can come before the season gets underway in August.
Forest have other areas to bolster before the big kick-off, whilst other wingers will be needed, with Ramon Sosa already leaving and Jota Silva wanted by Sporting CP.
Ndoye feels like a really good fit for Forest, however, and at £37 million, it does feel as though the club have been meticulous when it comes to replacing Elanga.
Hopefully, this one can get done sharpish to allow the player plenty of time to settle and prepare alongside his new teammates, ready for the new season.
