Everton hit Angus Kinnear complication at Leeds United afte... | Football-Addict

Daniel Farke responds when asked if Angus Kinnear will leave Leeds to join Everton

Reports emerged this week that Angus Kinnear will leave his post as Leeds United’s chief executive to join Everton at the end of the season – and now, Daniel Farke has commented on the reports.

Kinnear is closing in on eight years at Elland Road with the former West Ham and Arsenal figure playing a key role in the entirety of Andrea Radrizzani’s era and then the takeover by The 49ers back in 2023.

Kinnear has often been the public face of the Leeds board, speaking to media the supporters trust to give fans a picture of what is happening upstairs. The CEO is well-liked by members of Leeds United’s staff.

But Kinnear had been linked with Everton already this season and earlier this week, The Mail said that at the end of the season, Kinnear would end his Leeds tenure and complete a move to David Moyes’ side.

Everton have just been the subject of a £400m takeover from AS Roma owners The Friedkin Group and are about to move into their brand-new stadium. This is an exciting time to be involved with Everton.

Easy to see why a move to Everton may prove tempting for Kinnear, who has been identified as the no.1 target by The Friedkin Group to till their CEO void. Farke seemed to confirm the rumours on Thursday.

“It’s a professional business if you are doing well. A good sign if others are interested in staff members. It belongs to this business. When I was young I would have been distracted. It’s quite normal, a good sign.”

Following the reports, transfer expert Graeme Bailey told LeedsUnited.News that Kinnear’s move to Everton is as good as done in the eyes of those at Everton. But, he wants to remain until the summer.

Kinnear wants to make sure that Leeds get back into the top flight under his stewardship, a second promotion to the Premier League during his time at Leeds. He has had his critics, but remains well-liked.

Certainly if Kinnear does go, Leeds need to establish his replacement quickly whether that be internally or bringing someone in – especially, with such a busy summer ahead given promotion is on the cards.
