When it’s rocking, there are few grounds across the country that can compete with Everton’s home support.

That was evident on the weekend when they thumped the visiting Leicester City 4-0, moving nine points clear of the relegation zone.

The noise around Goodison Park was deafening, and it certainly intimidated Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men, who conceded in the opening 10 seconds.

Conor Coady, who was on the Leicester bench, knows all about just how loud Goodison can get and he’s just come out and named the Everton game in which he experienced goosebumps for the first time in his career.

Conor Coady had goosebumps vs Bournemouth

Speaking on the Still Ryan podcast, Conor Coady revealed he had goosebumps for the first time in his career when he played against Bournemouth on the final day of the 2022/23 season.Conor Coady of Everton celebrates at the final whistle during the Premier League match between Everton FC and AFC Bournemouth at Goodison Park on M...

Everton were fighting to avoid relegation and knew if Leicester won, they simply had to pick up three points, otherwise, they were down.

“I think Leicester were winning,” Coady reminisced.

“At the time, a bit ironic really that I’m now at Leicester, but I think Leicester were winning. And I remember defending the corner and the away fans were obviously in the corner where at Goodison Park, where they are.

“And I was facing that way because the corner was coming in from that side and we were defending it. And all I could hear was the Bournemouth fans singing, Leicester boys are 1-0 up. My a__ went, you know, lad. Oh, lad, my a__ went.”Conor Coady of Everton celebrates at the final whistle during the Premier League match between Everton FC and AFC Bournemouth at Goodison Park on M...

Coady continued: “Like mid-game, mate, I had goosebumps. Do you know what I mean? Full-on goosebumps, thinking I’ve never had that in a game. Like when you’re in a game, you’re in a game. You’re there, you’re focused.

“Like that action, this action, that action, right? Where am I? Step the line up, drop, come here. You’re always in a game. But that one moment in my whole career, I’ve listened to a crowd and gone. Cause I never listened to a crowd.”
