Stoke City's 'generous offer' to Huddersfield revealed after Sorba Thomas transfer - Stoke-on-Trent Live

Stoke City could sell 19-year-old star for big fee with Huddersfield Town lurking

Stoke City are considering a permanent sale of Nathan Lowe this summer with Huddersfield Town keen, according to Alan Nixon.

Stoke City will be aiming for a significantly stronger 2025/26 season under the guidance of Mark Robins, who successfully steered the club to safety in the previous campaign. It was a particularly poor season for SCFC, who will look to move on next year.

Since their relegation from the Premier League in 2018, the Potters have consistently fallen short of expectations. Even more concerning, the club has endured a gradual decline, culminating in that narrow escape from relegation last season.

However, despite Stoke City looking towards a brighter future, they could be about to sell one of their star talents. According to Alan Nixon, the Potters would be willing to sell Nathan Lowe this summer for the right fee.

He has claimed that a bid of around £2.5m could be enough to allow Lowe to move on. League One side Huddersfield Town are waiting in the wings and could be tempted to make an offer.

Lowe had an outstanding first half of last season in League Two with Walsall, scoring 18 goals in 30 games. However, he managed just 10 appearances with SCFC after he was recalled in January.

A PSR move?

A separate report regarding Stoke this week claimed that the club could be managing PSR worries this summer. The report had claimed the club were looking to sell Million Manhoef to help ease those concerns.

However, this could also be the reason behind the potential sale of Lowe. His sale would provide more to them from a PSR perspective due to Lowe being homegrown at Stoke City.

After he could not nail down a spot in the side last season, Robins may not feel he was good enough for Stoke City. That could leave him as a good option to move on this summer.

Huddersfield Town is a great move

Huddersfield look like they are going to be a force in League One next year. They have already brought in several players and are now under the management of former Stoke man Lee Grant.

The Terriers are going to be one of the better sides in the third tier and will be playing most games on the front foot. That could be perfect for Lowe and a similar situation to his at Walsall earlier this year.

Blackpool, Bolton & Huddersfield should look to sign Stoke striker Nathan Lowe

If he can recapture that Walsall form in League One next year, he will be well worth that £2.5m. However, that is no cheap deal for the third tier, so the Terriers may feel it is just too much.
