WITH the summer transfer window opening on June 1, many clubs across England will be reaching deep into their pockets to strengthen their squads and send a clear message of ambition to their rivals.
Millwall, however, have to think differently.
According to Transfermarkt, Millwall are one of only eighteen clubs to have featured in the Championship since 1992–93 with a positive net transfer spend of over £10 million, having generated nearly £50 million in sales while spending just £35 million.
This marks a striking contrast to many of the 57 clubs who have featured in the Championship and also experienced spells in the Premier League.
