Luton Town – The Big Midfielder Stay Or Go Question

If there is one player I’d hate to see leave Luton Town this summer, it is Thelo Aasgaard.

The young Norwegian midfielder has that certain something about him that suggests he could be a star of the future.

Indeed, I can’t wait to see how he progresses, next season, with two experienced midfielders, in the shape of Kal Naismith and George Saville, playing alongside him.

Now we all know that Thelo is under pressure from the Norwegian manager with, Stale Solbakken, wanting his young charge to play at a higher level, something we reported on earlier in the close season – the-mind-games-continue.

But, with regards to Thelo being forced to leave, to appease his international manager, it appears that the youngster will, despite having to take a pay-cut, be staying with the Hatters.

An article in – EFL Analysis -carries the following words from its guidance from somebody who knows the game well, their Chief Correspondent, who remarks:

“Aasgaard might well have taken a hit on wages, because it’s likely they put a relegation wage drop clause in there when he signed, as Luton knew they were in trouble.”

“He’s a very good player. They paid good money for him. I’d be very surprised if he was allowed to leave. From what I’m hearing, he’s seen as a major player for them. Obviously, every player has a price, but I don’t think he’ll get out this summer, to be honest. He’s too important to them.”

Now I hope that is the case, I’m certain there will be a host of EFL Championship clubs testing the water and it’ll be interesting to see if Luton Town remain as resilient as I hope they can be, but what are your view on the subject matter?
