Oliver Glasner issues Marc Guehi update amid Crystal Palace injury fears
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has moved to allay fears over a serious injury to Marc Guehi.
The centre-back played the full 90 minutes as Crystal Palace beat Aston Villa 4-1, but did receive treatment midway through the game.
England manager Thomas Tuchel was watching on from the directors’ box at Selhurst Park and is just over two weeks away from naming his first squad.
If fit, Guehi is likely to be called up for Tuchel’s first matches in charge, in which they host Albania and Latvia at Wembley in 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month.
“He felt pain in his knee. He can rest now for two days, but should be ready for Friday and for the Millwall game.”
Guehi has played the full 90 minutes in all but one of Palace’s Premier League matches this season.
The Ivory Coast-born defender has 22 England caps and started every match en route to the final of Euro 2024 last summer, except for the quarter-final againstr which he was suspended.
Tuchel has been attending matches up and down the country as he considers which players to call up, and has compiled a pool of 50 players he considers to be worthwhile tracking more closely.

Emile Smith Rowe and Joe Willock react after former Arsenal teammate Eddie Nketiah finally scores for Crystal Palace
Former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has finally broken his Premier League duck for Crystal Palace.
The England international left the Gunners last summer after over a decade at the club. He had interest from several sides, but Crystal Palace
won the race for his signature in the end
Many people viewed Nketiah as a great signing for the Eagles and expected him to become a star at Selhurst Park because he would get regular game time there.
However, Nketiah has had a tough season at Palace and failed to score in any of his first 18 appearances in the Premier League.
That drought finally came to an end on Tuesday night.
