Phil Parkinson highlights key Wrexham improvement this season amid League One promotion battle
Wrexham travel to Blackpool desperate for three points to keep their promotion push on track.
Wrexham fell a point behind rivals Wycombe in the League One table and Blackpool’s recent form is a worry for the Red Dragons having won four of their last five.
Opta supercomputer’s latest prediction has Wycombe now heavy favourites to secure promotion but Phil Parkinson will know that his side have bounced back from adversity already this season.
Steve Bruce has praised Wrexham’s resilience this season and Parkinson has highlighted another key area of improvement for his side ahead of the clash at Bloomfield Road.

Phil Parkinson highlights improvement in Wrexham’s away form
At the turn of the year, the Red Dragons had won just three games on the road and started the year with away defeats to Barnsley and Shrewsbury.
Since then, Parkinson’s men have won six out of their last nine away from the Racecourse Ground and the manager has highlighted this improvement as a key to their promotion charge.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Parkinson stated: “Our away form at the end of January, we averaged just over a point per game and we’ve taken that to just over two points per game,
We needed to do that because we’ve had more away games than home games in the last few months of the season. We’re obviously pleased with the return, but now we need to continue that at Blackpool.”
Wrexham need to end bad EFL Easter Monday record
Wrexham’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers has left their promotion hopes on a knife edge and they will need to secure three points at Blackpool in order to keep pace with Wycombe.
However, if that is to happen, the Red Dragons will need to end a horrendous run of results historically on Easter Monday in the English Football League.

Wrexham have lost each of their last three away games on the festive day and conceded at least two goals in each of those defeats.
A repeat of a similar result against Blackpool would put a huge dent in their hopes of playing in the Championship next season and achieving a record third successive promotion.

Wrexham need to put the disappointment of Bristol Rovers behind them and claim three points at Blackpool.
Wrexham’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers has meant that the Red Dragons have dropped to third in League One, now one point behind promotion rivals Wycombe and have Charlton and Stockport close by.
Wrexham fans were unhappy with Phil Parkinson after the manager once again chose to go with Jay Rodriguez up front for the game at the Racecourse Ground and supporters are demanding change.
Steve Bruce has praised Wrexham for their resilience throughout the course of the season but with his side still in with a chance of the play-offs, Parkinson knows it will be another tough test for this side.

Steve Parkin revealed secret to Wrexham victory over Blackpool
Wrexham defeated Blackpool 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this season, thanks to a late penalty from Steven Fletcher.
Blackpool had taken an early lead in North Wales before Paul Mullin equalised before the half time break. Steve Parkin spoke to the club’s official website and revealed the change that secured the win that day.
Parkin stated: “First half we didn’t quite have the edge that we wanted in the game and sometimes I think you have to give the opposition credit.
