‘A long time’ – West Brom man eyes lengthy stay with the Baggies
West Brom defender Torbjorn Heggem has said he wants to stay for a ‘long time’ following his first season in England.
West Brom signed the player last summer and he penned a three-year deal running until June 2027. He has since become an important asset for WBA.
Heggem, 26, has enjoyed plenty of game time so far with the Baggies. He has made 45 appearances in the league and has chipped in with one goal and two assists.
In this latest update regarding his future plans, he has said, as per a report by Express & Star: “I feel like West Bromwich is a club that I can stay for a long time, of course. I’m enjoying playing here. I’m enjoying the fans. I’m enjoying the area. I don’t feel in a rush to play somewhere else.
“As I said, I’m just thinking about playing. Let’s see after the season. I wrote a long contract here, that was because I was hopefully staying here for a long period of time.”
West Brom missed out on the play-offs in this past campaign. They were four points off the top six in the end after their 5-3 win over Luton Town on the final day.
