League One club now want to sign Paul Mullin and one of his Wrexham teammates this summer
Paul Mullin is looking likely to leave Wrexham this summer, and one of his teammates at the Racecourse could follow suit.
Paul Mullin‘s time at Wrexham looks set to come to an end this summer, following what’s been a very testing season for the cult striker.
Owing to a combination of injury and simply being out of favour under Phil Parkinson, Mullin scored just three times in 26 League One appearances in 2024/25.
Nonetheless, he leaves as a club legend. And he’s not the only one who’s moving on with Wrexham releasing eight players ahead of the summer, whilst the likes of Ollie Palmer and several others also look set to be sold.
Parkinson has admitted Wrexham will sell players this summer, in what could be a transfer window with plenty of change. But Mullin could yet be joined by one of his teammates in his next move.
It’s recently been revealed that League One outfit Wigan Athletic are interested in signing Mullin this summer, with the possibility that Wrexham let him go for nothing.

Wigan Athletic line up move for Sam Dalby ahead of Wrexham departure
Sam Dalby is going to be on the move this summer. He’s among the eight being released this summer despite his positive season on loan at Dundee United, where he’s scored 15 goals in all competitions this season. Recent reports state that Dundee United are set to offer Dalby a contract this summer.
But Wigan Athletic are now in the race. Scottish outlet Daily Record report that Wigan Athletic have now joined Dundee United in the race to sign Dalby, who joined Wrexham back in 2022, scoring 13 goals in 91 total games for the club.
Parkinson’s striker options look set to undergo some quite drastic changes this summer. Along with Mullin and Dalby, Steven Fletcher is leaving Wrexham this summer too.

The latest on Wrexham’s striker search
Of all the players linked with Wrexham so far this summer, there are three strikers mentioned in Leeds United duo Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, and Cardiff City’s Callum Robinson.
All three look set to be on the move this summer and all three have been linked with moves to the Racecourse. But little has been said of the three in recent weeks.
The only recent bit of news on the trio comes from Bamford, who appearing on Ben Foster’s Fozcast said that he thinks he can still play at a good level for years to come.
Bamford said on his future plans: “I’d like to play for one as long as I still enjoy it and two I can still stay at a good level. I think, I reckon I’ve still got a good five years and I feel alright now but as soon as one of them two goes I think I’d then say I’m not going to force it.”
Parkinson will need to act fast this summer to ensure that he’s not left short on strikers come the start of next season, with Dalby and Mullin potentially being two big losses.
