How much Alfie Doughty earns at Luton Town as Kenilworth Road exit feared

£2.8m man keen on Luton Town exit, interest emerging

Luton Town striker Lasse Nordas is keen to leave the club and has interest from Djurgarden, according to reports from Sweden.

Luton Town are in for a huge summer as they prepare for the drop to League One. LTFC will bid farewell to numerous key assets who have no intention of playing in the third tier.

There are many players on the books at Kenilworth Road who may well have been disappointed to drop to the Championship in 2024, so the chances of them sticking around to try and rise from the third tier feel very slim.

Luton Town: Lasse Nordas eyeing exit, Djurgarden keen

A significant turnover of the Hatters’ playing squad awaits, and it is said that one man keen to move on is striker Lasse Nordas.

Luton Town only signed the Norwegian striker from Tromso for a reported £2.8m in the winter, but Swedish news outlet Aftonbladet (as cited by Fotboll Direkt) now says Nordas is keen to move on, and he has interest.

UEFA Conference League semi-finalists and Allsvenskan club Djurgarden were keen on the 23-year-old before he moved to LTFC and they have retained their interest, it is said.

It is not said whether the Hatters will fight to keep Nordas, though he struggled to make an impression after his winter switch.

Luton Town better off cutting their losses?

Towering striker Nordas was a hit in his native Norway with Tromso, hence why Luton Town looked to bring him in.

However, 10 appearances for the Hatters yielded no goals and one assist. He struggled to make an impact upon arrival and ultimately found minutes hard to come by, with his last Championship start coming in the 2-0 defeat to rivals Watford on February 23rd.

Having made a decent investment to sign Nordas, LTFC might just be better off cutting their losses. They can get back as much as they can for the striker while he can return to a higher level of football rather than play in League One.

Big names set to leave

As touched on before, Luton Town have players who will have stayed put last summer to try and get the club straight back to the Premier League. There are also assets who were signed to help that bid who seem unlikely to stay put.

Alfie Doughty is perhaps the most likely to draw high profile interest, while centre-backs Teden Mengi and Mark McGuinness are sizeable assets too.

Thelo Aasgaard managed the step up from League One well and may well have opportunities to stay in the Championship too. Carlton Morris, Christ Makosso, Reuell Walters and Tahith Chong could be other players to watch.
