Sheffield Wednesday are refusing to do one thing in Danny Rohl saga, it’s worrying for the fans
Danny Rohl’s future at Sheffield Wednesday is one of the biggest talking points heading into the summer, with the German deciding on his next move.
Under the tight constraints of Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership model, Danny Rohl has done a fantastic job at Sheffield Wednesday
The 36-year-old miraculously saved the Owls from relegation in 2023/24 following the disastrous tenure of Xisco Munoz, and then led them to a 12th-place finish in the Championship.
Unfortunately, Rohl’s future at Hillsborough has been cast into doubt in recent months, partly due to interest from other clubs but also due to the manager’s comments.
Rohl has burnt bridges with the Wednesday fans after suggesting he wanted to leave, yet there is no simple resolution to this saga.

Sheffield Wednesday refuse to sack Danny Rohl
Recently, the German tactician has been linked with a host of clubs, with even Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Fulham taking an interest in Rohl.
However, despite his preferred destination being a return to Germany, the Daily Mail report that the manager will take time over his next career move, leaving the club in a difficult position.
There is an acceptance that Rohl will depart Sheffield Wednesday this summer, but the longer this carries on, the more agitated and worried fans will be heading into next season.
In an ideal world, the former Bayern Munich coach would exit early on in pre-season, giving the club enough time to find a replacement.
Sadly, the manager is in no rush to leave, and we exclusively revealed that Wednesday won’t sack Rohl regardless of what happens.
That suggests supporters could be waiting a while to know who will be in charge for 2025/26, making them resent the German after previously loving him.

Sheffield Wednesday could fall behind this summer
It’s impossible for Wednesday to plan for next season when they don’t know whether Rohl will be the manager, and this could see them fall behind other clubs.
There are already worries about how far Wednesday could plummet down the table without Rohl at the helm, and those aren’t helped by how long he’s taking to decide his future.
Although there is excitement about a potential Sheffield Wednesday takeover from the mega-rich Walton family, the biggest concern for supporters is the managerial situation.
The sooner Rohl decides where he wants to go, the better, as it’s becoming increasingly frustrating that he’s eating into the time the Owls have to find a suitable replacement.

Ex-player says what it would take for Danny Rohl to remain at Sheffield Wednesday this summer
The future of Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday has been called into question in the last few months.
Danny Rohl saved Sheffield Wednesday from relegation in 2023/24 before taking them to a midtable finish in 2024/25.
However, Rohl’s future with the Owls has been plunged heavily into doubt of late, in part due to the manager’s own comments.
Wednesday fans are not happy with the situation created by the German and the club, who have had their fair share of problems in the last few years.
Now, one former player has been discussing the potential exit of the former Bayern Munich coach.

What it would take for Danny Rohl to remain at Sheffield Wednesday
One of the main issues at the club in the last few years has been their owner.
But a potential Sheffield Wednesday takeover has now been mooted in the last week or so.
On this front, former Owl Chris Waddle has been discussing Rohl and whether he will remain at Hillsborough.
When doing so, he suggested that the only way the German could stay is if someone else buys the club and offers him a lot of money to spend on players.
He told Football League World: “So whoever goes in as manager, I’m sure Danny Rohl will leave regardless of what happens, unless somebody comes in and offers a lot of money to spend and has a desire to get into the Premier League. But I think he’ll leave whatever, and if somebody buys his clause out, I think he will go.
“And then he’s looking at probably Henrik [Pedersen], his assistant who could probably step in, knows the club now, knows the players. Very talented guy, you know – it’s not just about Danny – I think Henrik’s got a big part to play and I think the two of them have been very good.
“So, yeah, I would like to see probably you know, if Chansiri stays, I’m sure Danny Rohl does get bought out on his clause, I’m sure Henrik will be the next one in line, which is not bad, he knows the club and I’m sure he has players lined up.”
