Final Jamie Vardy transfer decision made as club director gives one-word answer to deal
Jamie Vardy’s future is in the spotlight as he prepares to leave Leicester City this summer
Wrexham have ruled out signing Jamie Vardy as the Leicester City icon’s search for his next club begins.
Hollywood-backed Wrexham have been one of the most prominent clubs linked to Vardy since it was announced that he would be leaving City.
Vardy himself cast doubt over such a move last week, suggesting he wouldn’t play for a Championship club that wasn’t City, with Wrexham one of the 23 clubs to be visiting the King Power Stadium in the league next season following their third straight promotion.

The 38-year-old has said he wants to continue playing at the top level, and may yet have suitors in the Premier League after nine goals and four assists this season.
Speaking on Radio X on Tuesday morning, Wrexham community director Humphrey Ker was asked if the Welsh club had a desire to sign Vardy, to which he said no.
Ker said there is rampant speculation around Wrexham because of the media interest in them, but it was Ker himself who said a year ago that they could target a player like Vardy.
Asked if Wrexham were trying to sign Vardy, Ker said: “No. Wrexham generates clicks so we’ve started getting linked with absolutely everybody.
“I see our fans getting incandescent on Twitter about us trying to sign a player but then it will be someone none of us have heard of before.
Will Wrexham let Paul Mullin make transfer call? Striker deserves to dictate future as he remains far from ‘finished’ despite having ‘three at the beginning’ of his age
- Striker has over 100 goals for Red Dragons
- Two years left to run on his contract
- Exit talk after tumbling down pecking order

WHAT HAPPENED?
Having moved to North Wales in 2021, as Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney convinced him to drop out of the EFL, Mullin has hit 110 goals for the Red Dragons while becoming a three-time Player of the Year.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
He has, however, dropped down the pecking order under Phil Parkinson – with a bit-part role played in a historic third successive promotion that has Wrexham heading to the Championship. Inevitable exit talk has been generated.
