Leicester City predictions, Ruud van Nistelrooy to be sacked in March and owner to speak out

Leicester City ended February 2025 with what was one of their worst displays of the season to far.

The Foxes were smashed 4-0 by Brentford the week prior and this fixture seemed like their last real chance to prove they can mount any sort of survival push.

Leicester City fans felt sorry for Mads Hermansen during the match, who could do nothing to prevent another woeful display defensively.

Jannik Vestergaard made two big errors to cost his side two goals in the first 45 and the game was over from that point.

Leicester lost 2-0 to West Ham United and are now set to enter March 19th in the Premier League and five points from safety.

With that in mind, we have taken a look at what could happen at the King Power Stadium during the next month.

Van Nistelrooy: 'Immediate' Leicester City sack update

Leicester City losing streak goes on

After the West Ham defeat, Leicester have now lost 11 of their last 12 Premier League matches, picking up just one victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

On paper, Brentford and West Ham were the two easiest games the Midlands outfit were going to have for some time.

Owing to the international break, Leicester only play two games in the month of March but they are unlikely to get anything from either.

They return to action against Chelsea on the 9th before another meeting with Manchester United on the 16th.

Given they can’t even look half-decent against a West Ham team who have had some serious problems of their own this season, there is no chance they’ll get anything against two of the ‘big six’, even if one of them is an out-of-form Man Utd.

Leicester City sack Ruud van Nistelrooy

With two more defeats almost certainly heading their way, there just isn’t a world in which Ruud van Nistelrooy is able to keep his job.

Leicester fans slammed Van Nistelrooy once more after another dire display on February 27th, and that ire is only going to grow when they inevitably lose to Chelsea and Manchester United.

When that does likely happen, Ruud will have lost 13 of his last 14 Premier League matches and picked up just two wins in 16. Even Steve Cooper had a better record than that.

It’s too late to save the season, and given the lack of finances, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a caretaker boss, probably Andy King, appointed to see out 2024/25.
