Bournemouth table €40m offer – Cherries moving in last few hours
AFC Bournemouth have made concrete advances in their efforts to sign Lazio’s Mario Gila this summer.
That’s at least what journalist Alfredo Pedullà is reporting, and he states the English club have made a €40m offer for the centre-back.
Bournemouth sold Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, just a year after signing him from Juventus, and will need to bring in a replacement.

The Cherries have identified the Lazio player as their target and even tabled a bid to secure his services. The journalist claims the Serie A side have turned down their proposal in the ‘last few hours’.
Alfredo Pedullà took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to add the Premier League club’s bid was €40m including bonuses. The Biancocelesti rejected their offer because the 24-year-old is ‘unsellable’ to them.
It remains to be seen whether this claim of Bournemouth’s offer will be backed up in Italy and England.
The Spaniard joined Lazio from Real Madrid in July 2022 and has a contract until 2027. He played 84 games for the Italian club of which 43 are from this season.
On Thursday, Mundo Deportivo reported Luis Díaz wants to leave Anfield as he doesn’t feel valued at Liverpool.
Liverpool have softened their stance as Friday’s edition of Sport explains they are open to negotiating for the forward.
The Reds have been working on signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz in a deal worth over €130m and want to bring in another attacker.

‘There’s an understanding’ between Díaz and Barcelona. This is very important as they don’t have to worry about competition and can focus on negotiations with Liverpool.
The Catalan media have repeatedly insisted Barca are unwilling to match the €80m fee requested by Arne Slot’s side. Sport report the South American has a ‘commitment and promise’ from Liverpool that he can go for a fee slightly higher than €60m.
There’s no mention or indication if the two clubs have started negotiations. Despite this, the newspaper states Barcelona are convinced of acquiring Díaz’s signature and believe an ‘agreement can be reached sooner rather than later’.
El Chiringuito report the move to Barcelona is ‘hot’, but the club don’t want to pay more than €60m.
Journalist Jose Alvarez Haya covered this report and AS relay his comments.
“Luis Díaz remains Barça’s first option. They have set a deadline for the difficult negotiations with Liverpool, both in terms of time and money [not going beyond €60m]. There’s complete harmony with the Colombian. If he doesn’t leave, another option that Flick really likes is [Marcus] Rashford,” he said.
