Matheus Cunha hits back at ‘deleted’ post amid Nottingham Forest transfer links
The latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds are one of several clubs linked with an interest in the Wolves forward.
Nottingham Forest-linked Matheus Cunha has given his response to an online claim that he published and then subsequently deleted a post about his future on social media.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from Wolves in the summer transfer window. He is said to have a £62.5 million clause in his contract which he signed earlier in the season.
Forest are among the clubs to be linked with an interest in the player, with Nuno Espirito Santo planning for the likely possibility of playing Champions League football next season. Despite the loss against Everton on Saturday, the Reds still sit in third place in the table, four points clear of Chelsea in sixth place, although they have played a game more than their rivals.

On Saturday morning, Wolves fan account talkingwolves posted a screenshot on social media claiming that Cunha had posted a picture on his Instagram story with a caption reading: “Time to be happy, I will follow my dreams, not yours…So stay cool.”
The caption from the fan account read: “Deleted Instagram story from Matheus Cunha earlier today.”
The player himself has now appeared in the replies of the post to give his own response. He started by simply replying with: “HAHHAHAHAHA,” before hitting back in the replies on Instagram.
“Do you know what you want? For people to not like me here,” he replied on the account’s post.
“Unfortunately I’m going to the field to solve the problem of your favourite club. I’m not here looking for alternatives to be someone important. Fans root for their own, they don’t create misfortunes all the time.”
Just last month, Cunha spoke about his future and outlined how he’s looking to take the ‘next step’.
“I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” said the Brazil international. “Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
Cunha has since posted a picture of him in pre-match training ahead of Wolves’ Premier League match against Tottenham, with a caption reading: “So happy to be back tomorrow.”
The forward could return to action after serving a four match suspension. He was handed the ban after being shown a straight red card in the FA Cup fifth round clash vs Bournemouth.

Nuno Espirito Santo makes honest Murillo admission after Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Everton
When all is said and done, after 38 games this season, this might prove to be the pivotal moment for Nottingham Forest.
Forest were beaten 1-0 by Everton with Abdoulaye Doucoure scoring the winner in the 94th minute of the game after an error from Murillo.
In truth, it was no more than Everton deserved.
David Moyes did a number on the Reds at the City Ground, with the Toffees looking a completely different team to the one which Forest blew away in December.
It was a poor afternoon for Forest – and for Murillo – with Nuno Espirito Santo now in need of a reaction next time out at Tottenham.

The Toffees richly deserved their win on Trentside, with Moyes getting his game plan off to perfection.
Forest have to move on quickly and now isn’t really the time to be pointing the finger of blame.
After this one, Espirito Santo had some words for Murillo and after this one, he made a claim about the Brazilian central defender.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: “It was not normal (from Murillo). The decision-making was definitely not the best.
