Frank Lampard confirms another Coventry City player out of the final run-in as two more touch and go
Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive as Frank Lampard provides an update on Victor Torp, Bobby Thomas and Ephron Mason-Clark
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Coventry City have lost another player for the remainder of the season while two others are battling to play a part in the final run-in for a place in the play-offs.
The Sky Blues boss revealed that Victor Torp’s campaign is over after receiving confirmation that he suffered ankle ligament damage against Portsmouth.
Meanwhile, defender Bobby Thomas and winger Ephron Mason-Clark both sat out Monday night’s 1-1 draw at Hull with issues that don’t appear to be too serious but put them in doubt for Good Friday’s CBS Arena clash with West Bromwich Albion.

“Bobby has got a small calf strain,” revealed the head coach, explaining the centre-back’s absence against the Tigers.
“Ephron has got the similar problem he’s been struggling with, and it flared up against Portsmouth under his foot, so that’s like a bone issue, so that kept him out. They will be doubts for Friday but I don’t want to commit to that, so we’ll see.”
As for Torp, who pulled up early in the 1-0 win over Pompey last Wednesday night, Lampard added: “Victor Torp is going to miss the season with ankle ligaments.”
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Oliver Dovin has had knee surgery to repair his ACL, with Lampard saying: “Ollie’s surgery went well but we’re no clearer on timescale for that one.”
Two other senior players – Josh Eccles (calf) and Brandon Thomas-Asante (pelvis) – had been targeting a return for Good Friday’s match with the Baggies.
Frank Lampard laments ‘sloppy’ Coventry City defending vs Hull, they ‘deserved more’ from the game
Coventry City missed the chance to jump into fifth place in the Championship table last night, and Frank Lampard has outlined exactly where his team came up short.
A brilliant run of form since the turn of the year has seen Coventry become genuine play-off contenders under Frank Lampard.
Nine wins from ten games back in February and March had the Sky Blues looking hot favourites to go all the way, but they’ve hit a more inconsistent patch of late.
Still, Coventry went into the game against Hull City on Monday night knowing that a win would move them up the table and put significant distance between them and the chasing pack.
However, as we learned from the Coventry vs Hull game, things rarely go to plan, and the Tigers battled well to grab a vital point for themselves.

What Frank Lampard had to say about Coventry City’s 1-1 draw vs Hull
Coventry took the lead early in the second half, but were pegged back late on with a scrappy Hull City goal. Discussing that moment (via the club’s website) after the game, Lampard was forthcoming about how his team could and should have kept the ball out of the net.
He said: “We could have done better with the first part of the action when we were a bit sloppy letting them play out and it’s a change of play.
“The lad, he’s shot, but there’s no conviction and he’s not moved it to shift and really strike it, it’s one of those where we’re a bit disappointed, but if you analyse it you probably go it’s just one of those goals, like they might feel about ours.
