Rico Henry is finished at Brentford' after source's new signing reveal

Brentford predicted XI vs. Man United: Possible lineup for Premier League clash

Brentford are expected to welcome Aaron Hickey and Igor Thiago back into the matchday fold ahead of Manchester United‘s visit in the Premier League on Sunday.

The full-back and the striker have endured extended periods on the sidelines due to injury, but the pair have both returned to full training with Thomas Frank‘s troops.

Nevertheless, there is likely to be little change in terms of the starting XI for the Bees from their 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Thursday night.

Goalscorers against the Champions League-chasing Tricky Trees last time out, Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa will retain their spots in the attacking line alongside Mikkel Damsgaard and Bryan Mbeumo.

There could be an alteration at the back for Brentford, though, with Keane Lewis-Potter replaced by Rico Henry during the half-time interval in the East Midlands on Thursday.

Left-back Henry has not started a Premier League match since September 2023, when he suffered a serious knee injury during a contest with Newcastle United.

Brentford are battling on without the services of Vitaly Janelt (heel), Fabio Carvalho (shoulder) and utility player Josh Dasilva.

Brentford possible starting lineup: Flekken; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Henry; Norgaard, Yarmolyuk, Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa

Man Utd face Brentford in the Premier League fixture this weekend and this is how they should line up.

Ruben Amorim is expected to make wholesale changes to his Manchester United starting line up when they face Brentford in the Premier League this weekend. United head into the match with eyes firmly set on next week’s crucial Europa League second leg against Athletic Club and will not take any chances with their team selection.

It means several key players could be rested from the start at the Brentford Community Stadium, and Amorim could give some youngsters a chance to showcase their talents ahead of the summer transfer window. United could also use the opportunity to bring players back up to match fitness after recent injury setbacks.

With all things considered, it is set to be a fascinating clash this weekend, and this is the United starting line up we would like to see selected against Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Head coach Thomas Frank has provided an injury update ahead of Brentford’s Premier League game against Manchester United.

The Bees return to Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off GMT) following an impressive midweek victory over Nottingham Forest.

“Everyone is safe, fit, okay,” said Frank.

“We are ready to go again on Sunday. Of course, it is a tight turnaround, but it is what it is, and we are looking forward to playing on Sunday.

“It’s all about recovery from the final whistle last night [Thursday] until basically two hours before the game on Sunday. We are ready to attack again.”

As reported on Wednesday, Aaron Hickey and Igor Thiago have returned to full training. Full-back Hickey (hamstring) has been unavailable since October 2023, while striker Thiago (knee) has been restricted to four appearances since his move from Club Brugge in the summer, with the most recent of those coming against Newcastle United in December.

One player who will not feature again this term is midfielder Vitaly Janelt, who recently had surgery to address an issue in his heel.

Fábio Carvalho (shoulder) is also unlikely to feature again this campaign, while Josh Dasilva (knee) remains sidelined.

Sunday’s opponents Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table, three places and 10 points worse off than the Bees, but Frank believes that Ruben Amorim’s side have deserved more points from their performances.

Opinion: Why Brentford's Rico Henry could be ideal Sheffield United signing - Sheffield United News

“It’s a team that is very structured; they know what they want to do offensively and defensively,” he said.

“The performances in Europe show that there is potential and actually in the Premier League they have not got what they have played to.

“There are a lot of games with high expected goals and chances, the rhythm of the games, they have deserved more.

“It’s Man United, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. They will put a very competitive team out there on Sunday.”
