Ipswich Town: Ex-Blue Adam Przybek joins Indonesian champions Persib
Former Ipswich Town goalkeeper Adam Przybek has decided to continue his playing career outside of Europe, joining the current champions of Indonesia.
The 25-year-old came through the ranks at West Brom, joining the Blues following three different non-league loan spells.
He made just one appearance, which came in an EFL Trophy game against Peterborough United in December 2019. It finished 1-1, with Przybek the hero in the penalty shoot-out, saving two spot-kicks to earn the win.
Loans at Braintree Town, Concord Rangers and Chesterfield followed, but there was no future for him in Suffolk, leading to a permanent departure and subsequent moves to Wycombe Wanderers, Walsall and Stevenage
He left the UK to sign for Polish side Stal Stalowa Wola in 2023 before switching to Welsh club Penybont 12 months later.
His latest adventure has taken him to Southeast Asia, signing for top-flight side Persib Bandung. They are the country’s defending champions, having won the title in back-to-back seasons.
They announced his arrival at a fan event, with Przybek now due to fly out for his official unveiling.
Persib are one of the biggest clubs in Indonesia, with more than 13.5m followers across social media platforms X and Instagram.
Last night, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Championship side Derby County were looking to sign the 24-year-old, but GiveMeSport have since added that the Blues are also in the mix, although no agreement has been reached with regards to a transfer fee.
Belgian outfit Genk are also credited with interest, while Charlotte are believed to have rejected a bid from Luton Town back in January.
Agyemang has only ever played in the United States, having come through the ranks at Eastern Connecticut Warriors, Rhode Island Rams and Western Mass Pioneers before eventually earning his MLS move with Charlotte in 2023.
A nine-cap US international, he has six goals and an assist in 16 games so far this season. His total record for Charlotte is 17 goals in 59 games.
He’s currently away at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, having scored twice in three games for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Alex’s verdict
A lot to like about this one. Agyemang fits the physical profile at 6’4′. He’s shown he can be a powerful no.9 and a real threat in the box.

There are also some concerns. The jump from MLS to English football is the biggest one. Coming into a team with aspirations of securing automatic promotion would be a big ask, although it would likely be a supporting role behind George Hirst in the pecking order.
The source is reliable, coming from Tom Bogert, so this is one to watch. There’s real competition to sign him, but a Championship move sounds likely.
