Christian Eriksen makes promising prediction ahead of Man Utd exit, he sends ‘huge thank you’ to supportive fans

Christian Eriksen leaves Manchester United this summer after spending three years at Old Trafford.

After joining Manchester United on a free transfer in 2022, Christian Eriksen has made a total of 107 appearances for the club.

The Denmark international won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

There were plenty of lows experienced in those years, with United finishing 15th in the Premier League last season.

United announced Eriksen’s departure at the end of the season, which means he is free to negotiate a contract with a new club this summer.

Eriksen found himself out of favour over the past season, and he started just 11 matches in the Premier League. The 33-year-old does not have the legs he had during his peak, and he found it a challenge to play at the highest level every week.

Christian Eriksen reflects positively on his time at Man Utd

United fans have had long enough to accept the fact that Eriksen would leave the club this summer.

It was always expected to be his final season, and his departure gives Ruben Amorim a chance to build his midfield for the future with fresh legs.

Eriksen scored eight goals during his time at Old Trafford and made his final competitive appearance in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the final day of the season. The Dane scored from the penalty spot and took the opportunity to wave goodbye to the United faithful.

Reflecting on his best moments on United, Eriksen took time to thank the fans for their loyal support throughout his time at the club.

“There’s been a lot of good memories, a lot of special games, a lot of special people I’ve met in my time here,” Eriksen told ManUtd.com.

“Two trophies and, in between that, a few finals as well.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time and a huge thank you to the club, to the fans, to my team-mates.

“I’ve really felt at home from day one, me and my family, so it’s going to be a special place in my heart, leaving here.”

Eriksen has hinted that he will avoid signing for a Premier League club as he prepares to face a new challenge in his career.

Eriksen makes prediction ahead of Man Utd exit

Eriksen is leaving United on good terms and will wish his former club the best of luck in the future.

The Dane acknowledges the fact that United fans support the team whether they win, lose or draw. That is why Eriksen considers the team lucky.

Eriksen predicts a bright future for United ahead of his departure.

“They [the fans] have really been standing behind us, and I think they’ve done that through the years I’ve been here as well,” he added. “They’ve always been supportive, no matter what the circumstances have been.

“I think the players are lucky to have them as fans and, yeah, I think the people, the players, know that now. They play for the fans, like they always [have] done.

“Hopefully, there will be good times ahead, like the manager was saying [during his on-pitch address].

“Together with the fans, I’m sure they have a bright future.”
