Danny Rohl ‘negotiations’ claim made as update emerges amid Leicester City manager search

A report has claimed how much Leicester City would need to spend to secure Danny Rohl as their new manager.
The search is on for a successor to Ruud van Nistelrooy at the King Power Stadium. The Dutchman left the club by mutual consent on Friday morning after seven months in the job.
Rohl is said to be among the names on City’s shortlist of potential candidates. He has been in charge of Sheffield Wednesday since October 2023, and the cost of luring him away has reportedly been cut.
Following negotiations with the Owls, Rohl’s compensation package for another club to employ him ‘has been halved’. According to Sky Sports News, if the Foxes decide to pursue the German it could cost them in the region of £1 million.
Aside from Rohl, various other names have emerged as possible replacements for Van Nistelrooy. Former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche is one, although there are conflicting reports over whether he would want the job.
Rohl, on the other hand, has not hidden his intentions to move up in the world of football management. Reports have suggested he is in line to leave Hillsborough this summer, regardless of whether he links up with City.
The 36-year-old’s standing is high thanks to how he has handled a difficult period for Wednesday. Amid various problems off the pitch, Rohl has steered a steady ship on it while in charge of the Championship club.

City have challenges of their own, with a possible points deduction on the cards for this coming campaign. Ex-Foxes striker Emile Heskey believes Rohl would, therefore, be well equipped for the job at the King Power Stadium.
Heskey said on talkSPORT: “It would be great for the club to announce someone soon because then the fans can be settled and can understand where the club’s going. I think they (City) need someone who understands the fight, who understands the city a little bit.
“You have to understand the fanbase and understand who Leicester are as a club. You have to understand the fight the Championship is. It’s tough, it’s relentless.
