A good example of that is the Liam Delap transfer which has halted the Saints’ selling approach for Tyler Dibling. Now, the club’s number one Aaron Ramsdale is also feeling the same way after becoming aware of Chelsea’s goalkeeper recruitment.

On paper, nothing concrete has been done but the Conference League winners appear firm to land Milan’s Mike Maignan. In his own words, Fabrizio Romano has echoed Chelsea’s stance saying: “Understand contacts have started also with Enzo Maresca appreciating the French goalkeeper as ideal option for his tactical approach.”

Now, barring any last-minute deal breakers, Chelsea have addressed their shot-stopper needs for at least a few seasons. The 26-year-old has delivered one of the most underrated save-making campaigns in English top flight’s history and thus, a reward to join a competitive Premier League outfit felt more than justified for him.

Coming to reality, nothing such appears to be on the cards and Ramsdale too seems to have moved on. According to TalkSport, the latter is interested in shaking hands with West Ham who too, are planning to make up for their lost top-table ground in the coming season.

Truth be told, Ramsdale is showing his eagerness but he knows that delaying further will only incline him towards a Championship spell. One, which isn’t an ambitious choice provided there’s still time to grab a decent Premier League escape route.
