Liverpool set for £45million raid on Premier League rivals to take spending spree to £184m
Liverpool are set to make a bid for Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez next week, talkSPORT understands.
Bournemouth are yet to receive any formal offers for Kerkez, who they value at around £45m.
The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top left-backs since making the move to the Vitality Stadium in 2023.
Kerkez featured in each of the Cherries’ 38 top-flight outings during the 2024/25 season to help the south coast outfit to a ninth-placed finish.
He chipped in with an impressive two goals and five assists – the joint-fifth most goal contributions of any defender in the division.
His impressive form led to Real Madrid to send scouts to watch him in Bournemouth’s 2-1 win at Arsenal last month.
But Liverpool are looking to steal a march on potential suitors by making the first official move for the Hungary international.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new left-back to provide competition for Scottish star Andy Robertson.
Kerkez is seen as a long-term replacement for Robertson, who has just 12 months left on his contract in Merseyside.
The Dutchman has joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen after the Premier League champions activated his £29.5m release clause.
And Liverpool have also made a club-record £109m bid for Frimpong’s ex-Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, with personal terms between the two parties already agreed.
Liverpool are still in the market for a new left winger – especially if Luis Diaz links up in Saudi Arabia or joins Barcelona.
talkSPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs has declared how the Reds could reignite their interest in Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon should they part ways with the Colombian forward.
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show, Jacobs said: “The advantage for Liverpool is that they’ve got loads of money to spend.
Before adding: “Al Nassr want Luis Diaz, he’s their top target, they believe €80m [£71.6m] will be good enough.
“And I do think at that number, Liverpool might be tempted to sell, so that’s one to watch.
