Leeds United 'disaster' outlined as four players lined up for exit

Leeds United’s chances of signing £26m star receive massive boost as David Moyes’ summer transfer plans emerge

Leeds United desperately need a new striker or two this summer, with current options for Daniel Farke now looking extremely thin.

Leeds United did end the season with not only the Championship title, but also the league’s Golden Boot winner in their ranks too, with Joel Piroe finishing the season on 19 goals.

Piroe scored four against Stoke City in the final rounds to secure the accolade. But he alone won’t be able to fire Leeds United to a strong 2025/26 season in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke needs better options and much more depth with only Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph behind Piroe: both players have been linked with moves away too, with Bamford linked with a move to Wrexham and recent reports linking Joseph with a move to Real Betis.

Leeds United have several transfer targets right now and a number of attacking targets too. There are some quite high-profile names being linked with a move to Elland Road but one who has split opinion is Everton striker Beto.

Moyes backed to be Leeds United boss amid Farke sack verdict

Leeds United have been linked with Beto who joined Everton in a £26million deal back in 2023. He’s since scored 11 goals in 59 Premier League games for the Toffees including eight in 29 this time round, though whether or not Everton realistically let him go this summer has remained unclear.

Now though, we might have more clarity as a report from iNews has stated that Moyes wants to sign two new strikers at Everton this summer, one being Chelsea’s Armando Broja who’s spent time on loan at the club this summer.

That could well see Beto fall right down the pecking order at the club and so a deal for Leeds United could become possible. Though it would likely be later in the summer when Everton have had a chance to sign some new strikers.

What Leeds United fans have said about the club’s interest in Beto

Beto could quickly become a hot topic this summer, especially if Everton move quickly to sign a couple of new strikers. But Beto has spoken out on his Everton future and he’s insisted that he’s fighting for his place in the side.

The 27-year-old might well be determined to stay at the club, and that would make do for Leeds fans: Leeds United fans don’t want Beto to join this summer, highlighting his patchy goals record over the last couple of seasons.

There’s also concerns about how much he’d cost given that Everton paid £26million to sign him back in 2023, with his contract not out until the summer of 2027 either.

But Farke may certainly keep an eye on things after the latest transfer news coming out of Everton.
