Toddler airlifted to hospital after fall off bridge in Great Smoky MountainsGreat Smoky Mountains National Park | Elk Springs Resort

On the afternoon of New Year’s Eve a Lifestar helicopter landed in Cades Cove to airlift the little boy to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Great Smoky Mountains Natl. Park — A 3-year-old boy was airlifted from the Great Smoky Mountains Tuesday afternoon after falling from a bridge at Abrams Falls. Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Elk Springs Resort

Dave Barak, a Public Affairs Specialist for the National Park Service, said on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve a Lifestar helicopter landed in Cades Cove to airlift the little boy to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Barak said the boy fell from a bridge and struck his head at the falls. He did not provide a condition for the child.
