Exclusive: Sheffield United Target Sunderland's Dan Ballard Amid Promotion Race Twist

Sunderland player to make ‘final decision’ on future – 2 sources claim new club keen

Last week, Borussia Dortmund’s delegation were in England to hold talks for Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund desperately want to sign the midfielder, but it won’t be easy because of the new competition. That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who say Eintracht Frankfurt have joined them and RB Leipzig in the transfer race.

Sky’s claim is echoed by Bild, who then share more on Eintracht Frankfurt’s interest in the Sunderland star.

They state the Bundesliga club ‘see a good chance’ of securing the 19-year-old’s services in the summer window.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in third spot, two points ahead of fourth placed SC Freiburg and three ahead of fifth placed BVB.

Freiburg host Eintracht Frankfurt in the last league tie of the season. If the latter qualify for the Champions League, it’ll improve their chances of securing Bellingham’s services.

Should Eintracht Frankfurt and BVB make it to the Champions League, there could be a ‘heated bidding war’ for the midfielder. The former are looking at the Black Cats player due to Ellyes Skhiri’s mixed performances and uncertainty around Hugo Larsson’s future.

The report states the youngster wants to make a move to the Bundesliga and Sunderland are requesting €25m for him.

Sunderland take on Sheffield United in the Championship playoff final on May 24th. Bild state England U21 international will make the ‘final decision’ on his future after the tie against the Blades.

Craig Moore urges Rangers to sign Sunderland midfielder

Craig Moore has urged Rangers to secure the services of five new players in the summer transfer window.

With a new manager and new owners, it’s set to be a busy summer at Ibrox and a potential rebuild of the first-team squad.

Celtic ran away with the league this season and Gers will not want a repeat of that in the 2025/26 campaign.

Nectarios Triantis suggested by Moore as part of Gers summer outlay

Moore is not one to shy away from sharing his opinion on Gers and he’s now named five players he would like the Ibrox outfit to sign.

The Australian wants his former side to bring in Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland – a player they’ve been linked with in the last few transfer windows.

Despite Hibs triggering his contract extension clause, Moore wants Martin Boyle to be signed as well.

Along with that, he wants the Bears to bring in Hearts full-back James Penrice and Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller.

Sunderland midfielder Nectarios Triantis, who shone on loan this season at Hibs, is another player fancied by the 49-year-old.

Speaking on Go Radio, he said: “Martin Boyle, [Lawrence] Shankland, the boy [Nectarios] Triantias has had a great season at Hibs. [James] Penrice, the left full-back at Hearts.

“For me there is enough players that can go in and Rangers would have a far better squad than they currently have got. Lennon Miller. There is players there.”

Shankland continues to be linked with an Ibrox switch.

Rangers must pursue Triantis’ services

Triantis would be a shrewd signing for Rangers due to his proven versatility and defensive prowess in the Scottish Premiership.
