Former Everton manager Marco Silva has just agreed to leave Fulham for shock new job

Marco Silva has enjoyed great success since leaving Everton in December 2019.

The Portuguese head coach has established himself as one of the best managers in the Premier League with Fulham, guiding them from the Championship to become a top 10 side in the top-flight.

In fact, the Cottagers are genuine challengers for European football this season, as they could qualify for the UEFA Conference League in eighth place.

Marco Silva was considered by Chelsea before Enzo Maresca was appointed and there have even been talks of a return to Goodison Park.

Everton fans have urged Silva to come back, but he’s now agreed to leave Fulham for a shock new club.

Marco Silva agrees to join Saudi Pro League club

There have been whispers about Silva potential leaving Fulham at the end of the season, but many expected it to be for a top European club.

Tottenham Hotspur were looking at Silva to replace Ange Postecoglou, who is expected to leave the North Londoners in the

.

But, surprisingly, it’s just emerged that the former Everton boss has agreed to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

The reigning champions have received the green light from Silva and will appoint him as their new manager if they can’t land their first choice.

Silva could bow out with Fulham record

Silva could be managing his final three games for Fulham and he has the chance to create history with the West Londoners.

Roy Hodgson achieved their record points total in the 2008/09 season, amassing 53 points to finish seventh.

Silva’s side are currently on 51 points, so they only need three more to break the record, although, they do have tough fixtures coming up.

Funnily enough, next up is Everton before a trip to Brentford and then a home clash against Manchester City on the final day.

Everton will bid farewell to a number of players this summer – and one star has now emerged as a target for Leeds United.

The Friedkin Group have a huge amount to do in their first summer transfer window following their takeover of the club in December.

The Toffees have several stars out of contract this summer, including the likes of Ashley Young, Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Then there are players who are only on loan who will be heading back to their parent clubs.

These include Orel Mangala, Armando Broja, Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison, who would like to stay at Everton.

But then there are also players who could be sold – and now, Leeds United are looking to sign one of Everton’s most improved stars in 2025.

Leeds eye Beto transfer

It’s been claimed by Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett that Leeds now have Everton striker Beto in their crosshairs going into the summer.

He wrote on X earlier this evening: “Excl: #lufc interested in #efc striker Beto, I’m told

“Leeds have a transfer kitty of £100m+ such is their ambition to stay in PL. Unclear if Everton would allow their joint leading goalscorer (7) to leave, but huge reorganisation for Moyes this summer – with 15 out of contract.”

Beto has been one of the real success stories of the Moyes reign. Indeed, pundit Troy Deeney recently branded Beto as ‘excellent’

Having barely featured under Sean Dyche after he signed him for £30 million, the Guinea-Bissau international has scored six Premier League goals under Moyes.

So Beto has emerged as a target for Leeds, which is very interesting because two other Everton strikers stand to leave the club this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is at the end of his contract this summer, and the expectation is that he will go.

And Broja has not done enough to warrant a permanent move to Everton after his loan spell, and should head back to parent club Chelsea.

With those two highly likely to depart, Everton can’t be letting Beto – who had interest from Torino in January – go too hastily.

The club need to ensure they get cover first before sanctioning any exit of Beto, who has actually done fairly well and proven himself capable of scoring goals in the Premier League this year.

Unless Leeds offer close to what Everton initially paid for Beto, or perhaps slightly under, Everton probably shouldn’t be entertaining this interest.
