Lange Pushing Tottenham to Hire ‘Exceptional’ Manager to Replace Postecoglou
Tottenham Hotspur technical director Johan Lange is a fan of Brentford manager Thomas Frank amid growing uncertainty over Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club, The Telegraph journalist Matt Law has reported.
The Australian manager is believed to be heading towards the sack in North London regardless of whether Spurs win the Europa League, with the club now beginning to explore potential successors.
While Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham’s Marco Silva are expected to be among the leading candidates, Frank could also emerge as an option.
The Danish tactician has been linked with a Brentford exit for well over a year, and GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that he has been discussed by Tottenham.
Tottenham Eyeing Thomas Frank
As a successor to Ange Postecoglou
According to Law, while winning the Europa League and qualifying for next season’s Champions League may save Postecoglou from the sack, there is a growing sense that the Australian is likely to leave at the end of the season.
His key ally and one of his biggest supporters, chief football officer Scott Munn, is also expected to depart this summer, following the confirmed appointment of former Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham have lost 18 of their 33 league games this season.
Frank, meanwhile, has a contract with Brentford until June 2027, meaning any potential exit could require Spurs to pay his release clause.
The ‘exceptional’ Danish tactician, who has been with the Bees since 2018, is leading them to another mid-table finish as Brentford currently sit 11th with five games remaining, nine points ahead of Spurs in 16th.
Tottenham are now heading for their lowest-ever Premier League finish, having never ended a season outside the top 15. They last missed out on the top half of the table in 2007/08 under Juande Ramos.

Rangers news: Thomas Frank claim emerges as Americans look for new manager
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises may look to replace Barry Ferguson at Rangers, with Brentford manager Thomas Frank’s name being suggested.
The Gers icon replaced Philippe Clement as the interim boss until the end of the season, but there hasn’t been much improvement in the Glaswegian outfit’s form.
Any hope Ferguson may have had of continuing at Ibrox beyond the current campaign seems to have dwindled after being knocked out of the Europa League.
The prospective new owners will have a massive decision to make on the Glaswegian outfit’s next head coach, with a shock claim being made about Frank.
Frank approach suggested at Rangers
Scott McDermott wonders whether the Light Blues could potentially make an approach for Frank to be their new manager
The Daily Record journalist believes the Gers need a top-tier manager to compete with Brendan Rodgers and Celtic, with the name of the Brentford boss being suggested.
While McDermott acknowledges that the Danish head coach is unlikely to join the Glaswegian outfit, he feels they need someone of a similar calibre.
The journalist wrote in the Record (23 April): “They just need to appoint a top-tier manager, who is proven at the highest level, if they want to go toe-to-toe with Rodgers and Celtic next term.
“That will take proper clout — and cash. Who could they realistically attract to Ibrox? It’s highly unlikely, but could they somehow tempt a Frank, for example, away from Brentford to spearhead their Rangers project?
“Probably not, as he’s in the mega-rich Premier League and courting interest from big clubs around Europe. But surely, they have to aim high? This appointment has to be a statement of intent, a sure sign they mean business.”

49ers should stick with Ferguson for another season at Ibrox
Ferguson’s history at Ibrox goes beyond his current managerial stint, with the ex-midfielder winning several titles as the captain of his boyhood club.
